| I apologize for making a *** of myself on this forum, Ill try to explaine why I do this? I am expirancing God in a profound way, there is so much about God, and life that is so overwhelming, and its very hard for me to put it in words. I think this may be hapaning to other people as well, I can very well feel the Christ consiousness. People are learning so much so fast. There is so many things going on like prophecys, and dates, weather.... Theres just so much going on in my mind and spirit. I have so many questions... Im fixing to start rambaling againe so Ill stop. Back to my question... how can I stop thinking so much, or atleast keep it from being so spiritualy overwhelming?

A few tips:
- find an activity that clears your mind. Playing videogames is pretty good, some study found that the brainwaves of players were pretty similar to those of people meditating
- find an activity that allows you to express yourself. Writing poetry of some kind is good (rap is my favourite) but you have to find something that works for you
- get close to nature. Go for walks and just be around trees and birds etc.
- music. Put music on. When you listen to music you activate different parts of your brain/mind and can prevent you from over-intellectualising things
- compose your own metaphysical system. What this means is just start from scratch, clear your mind of all theories and ideas and just start from the very basics about existence. I've been doing this with my "Chain of Being" model and I've found it very satisfying. Instead of framing the world in someone elses model, by coming up with your own model you can feel much more confident about your thoughts and better able to set them aside when you need to.
But yeah I for one enjoy your posts so don't go thinking your making a fool of yourself here.

Lebowsk1 had some pretty excellent suggestions. Taking a walk or even bushwalking is a great way to clear your mind, much the same as meditation (I find the two very similar). Personally I find meditation is the best way to prevent myself from being overwhelmed by strong emotions. Meditation gives you a place to feel your emotions, both the good and the bad, and better equips you to face both stressful and everyday situations. I'm trying to avoid making it sound metaphysical, it just works - try it!
But if neither of those two are for you I'd definitely go with the music option - I have also read studies about brainwave functions in people listening to Motzart or Beethoven, apparently the music really synchronised the brainwave patterns and for a temporary period afterwards the spatial abilities of the participants increased markedly. I guess you need to try a few different ideas to see what works best for you.
Good luck!

i meditate and i have recently reached jhuana(Mindfulness). My largest suggestion is to focus yourself to other senses. such as emotions physical pain smell taste etc. This will not work if you focus with your intelect. don't focus with mind but focus with only the senses. soon you will become the senses and you might even start to think about them. resist and you will get information of god you could never have before.p.s. read "the fourth way"

Kavaa, I don't think you need to apologize for what you've posted. You have great things out there.
I had this same problem that you have. There was a time that my mind just never ever shut off. I even had a hard time listening to music because eventually my brain would make a music video of what I was thinking about.
All of Leb1's ideas are really good. What worked for me believe it or not was learning to meditate. I learned with someone I trust and felt comfortable with. But I still have episodes.
You just try one of the many things that has been suggested and ask God for guidance and trust that you will be guided to your answers. And good luck in your quest.

Be an animal. That's my best suggestion. Go outside play with the dog. Just play. Dogs know the rules of playing by heart, it's the only game they know. Learn that from them.
Also, you could go camping or hitchhiking...

There's actually quite a bit you can learn from animals.
I agree. Just go do something. Run. Ride a bike. Climb a mountain. Or something.

Area51 I experience intense spiritual intuition as well. So intensly that the people I encounter in my life sometimes ask "Can someone just turn him off?". I would say everyone is so helpful in what they are suggesting: Nature, animals, meditation, reviewing, for calming the mind, but I also want you to know what your experiencing is totally right on, and beautiful. Much of general culture doesn't appreciate this sort of spiritual stuff however, so it's pretty important to learn ways to calm our minds if we are survive in this rather silly place, you think?
