I also used to grow bonsai trees, I had a nice Hawaiian Umbrella tree which I turned into a bonsai, but it started to turn black and eventually it just died. I suppose it wasn’t cared for well enough. I also had four Wisteria plants that I grew from seed, they died as well …but in the spring I’ll try to grow some more
How about everyone else?
Wolf, Siiw, I know you both like plants
Oh yes, I love plants. To be more specific, I love BIG plants. It’s really cool to see such a little thing be raised to become a giant… As you can tell, I like planting trees and things like that. ^^
I like to grow plants I have mostly cactus plants right now, because i go away from my apartment quite often. My hawaiian umbrella tree got yellow leaves, and the new leaves got smaller and smaller, until it died. I also grow bulbs, and the zamioculcas plant likes my apartment.
/me looks forward to the summer when she can grow summer flowers again…violets in pots, morning glory all the way around my window, beautiful lilies, marigolds and potted roses…daydreams
And all my herbs, mint, thyme, rosemary, lemon balm, etc…
The only plant i have is a venus flytrap. This plant seems to be more than enough for me, as it is apparantly a tricky plant to grow because of it requiring alot of watering and high humidity and also need to hibernate once a year. You also should feed it with a insect now and then, but that is not so bad as i get to watch it eat
I would never have bought this plant myself, but i have to take care of it, as my mom bought it for me.
My mom on the other hand has loads of plants, and i occasionaly water them too…
The venus flytrap goes into hibernation in winter, but if it was bought in winter, it should just be allowed to grow. It should never be allowed to flower, because it will use up all the plant’s energy.
I keep an aloe plant in the house. I also tried a bamboo plant before, but that really didn’t work out for me. It is now dead. I didn’t water it enough.
In the summer I love to grow Sweet Peas in the garden, I love them. All the colours and stuff, beautiful!
One year I tried to grow the sweet peas from seeds. It kind of worked, but they were a bit thin.
Ness, sweet peas are quite easy to grow from seeds. They sprout easier if you soak the seeds ovenight before planting. It can take them a while to get up to speed, especially if it is cold, but they will become strong and flower in the autumn
I love to take care of plants, especially growing stuff from seeds on my balcony. Last summer I had potatoes, peas, sunflowers, paprika, melon and a lot of flowers I don’t remember the names of.
In the livingroom we have a lot of a kind of Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum).
A few weeks ago I was cleaning the kitchen, only to find some potatoes growing under the sink
I had forgotten them there and they began to sprout
Plant update - I have bought some Hass Avacadoes, and once I’ve eaten them I want to try to grow an avacado plant from seed. I grew one once when I was 6 or 7, now I’m going to try again and see what happens.
cool! Thanks Siiw. I will try to soak the seeds overnight. I think I did do that last time, but I can’t remember now.
But I planted them indoors first, and then I was going to transfer them outside, when it got warm enough. Maybe they didn’t get enough sunlight?
Usually my sweet peas flower in the middle of summer…like july/august. And they continue to flower pretty late too, last year they lasted until late october!
