Q, I wrote that to demonstrate how not worrying about other's opinions can be harmful to people and their feelings(as your post appears to prove). I wasn't intending for people to take it as a deliberate stab at someone if thats what you are getting at. It's just part of a counter argument against the original idea, not the author. I am sorry if I've upset you in some way.

I need to avoid the P. Cloud.. angry

The poem is well written, and the basic idea is a good one, but sometimes people want to hide. You might not like a person, or you might not want a person to know a ceritan thing about you or a certian aspect of your personality. Hiding things is not always bad.

PS-
Q, as far as artistic critism goes, the poem is beautifully written, you are very tanlented, but the idea is a little over used, and *sigh*, cheesy.

It's not a poem, it's a belief. smile

I rather not lie. I don't have a good memory.

It's only "cheesy" because it doesn't address the emotions and sh*t we suffer as humans. It's very idealistic, but what do you expect; she wrote it after meditating. And the thing about it being overused - okay, saying I love you might be overused, but once you truly feel it it's totally different because you understand it in a whole new way.

I just had to defend Q, but I'm not trying to inhibit ppl stating their opinions.

I suppose a balanced view when it comes to this is also good. Like a line in a song by an old band I like once said, "Change, but be yourself" ^^

I would think a balanced view would be "Everyone else is taken, so just be you!"

That reminds me of an Italian movie on the unification... It's original name is Il Gattopardo (The Leopard) has anyone seen it? It has a quote which is repeated by the nobles (who are trying not to lose their power with the revolution and thus sponsor it themselves) I will never forget: "Sometimes, one must change in order to remain."

Changing isn't wrong when it's the only way you'll stay true to yourself. siiw

From what I've learnt on my own path of self discovery it's easy to think you're being yourself, but then when you truely start being yourself and realise how much you were holding back it's very apparent.

It really is just about completely exposing yourself and taking things as they come, and you'll be much happier for it. Another thing though, you can't truely be yourself until you've found yourself.

Kind of what growing up is all about and where I think teen angst and such comes from, desire to fit in and not knowing your self. The only truely confident you is the real you because you're exacting exactly how you would act

If it's not too personal (and well, you can always speak in general terms too): why not now?

Situations tha hold you back, coincidences and of course because you have get used to it.It's not always a bad thing to hide.Experience tell me something like that, even if there were many other ways to handle some things,i usually prove myself right even if i don't want him to be proved right.!!

I don't see anything wrong with what Rad originally posted. I think it was a point well made. I mean, I may have interpreted it my way and he can come back and say "No, Ilum that's not what I meant" but what I see is that what if someone's true self was something similar to the person in his roleplay?

what if that is who they believed they were? Isn't that being true to themselves? I would think they were.

I can also see what Q is saying in that poem or statement. I don't think that everyone is hiding behind something just b/c they are being ridiculed and trying to avoid it.

I can go so either way with this topic though. So don't be surprised if I do. B/c I see both their opinions with what DD had to say.
