Try to use the present tense in your mantras instead of the futere tense.
For example :
"I'll be a better LDer" - bad
"I'll have an Ld tonight" - bad

Huh. I once succeeded in getting a friend with no prior knowledge interested in LDing. Moreover, the friend in question is a devout Catholic.
He did achieve an LD, but he got scared of not waking up ...
