Light's not a problem - I have those pens that light up when you click em. Got them just for the job. They work really well.

Personally I applaud your meditations / visualisation training. Not sure you could call it a "technique" as such, but I'd bet that those who are able to DEVELOP strong imagination/visualisat ...

Generally, for WILD/WBTB you want to get up about 4.5 hours or 6 hours after you go to bed. I've been there - it can be frustrating... trying not to move etc... if you move around too much you can't
