Ah so it boils down to control/skill - if you can control well then you can make it taste of whatever you wish. Would this taste be proper - I mean, would you remember the taste when you wake up?

I am currently on a diet where I'm eating no crap foods, so being able to munch away at everything would be awesome!
Just don't expect them to taste like real food... biggrin

Sometimes when senses are missing in LDs, you are on the verge of waking up or at least not "deeply enough" in the dream. If shouting and wishing does not help, just go along with the dream ...

To some extent, the solution depends on what comes easier to you: Keeping awareness if you are so tired you might fall asleep any moment, or falling asleep if you are very aware of what is happening. ...

Well, it doesn't look too much like a WBTB/WILD related problem to me. It can happen that you cannot fall asleep if you try too hard to do WILD, but as I see it you do not try at all.
