Actually I would suggest that although you were having strong Lucidity, your dream was very shallow (explains you waking up).

Challenge for you: Implant a command in your next LD that you will at a certain time of day get a pen - get a notebook - and draw a specific symbol. Then make sure to forget it after waking up.

I've heard people say this happened when they worked on WILD. They would get to the stage where they were asleep, but their mind was awake, but not have a dream incubated, so they would just come out ...

Dreams are not 'reality' and so space doesn't apply. Because of this people quickly jump to the conclusion that you aren't really 'teleporting' rather you are just changing scenery.
