This RC has around a 40% success rate with me. Even when I'm lucid it doesn't work sometimes (ie. I can't breathe).

I've tried 2 / 2 times in a dream and it worked both times. So far 100% success.

This is how I verify I'm lucid, and it works every time. It's the only one I use. Usually I know I'm dreaming, but I do the 'pinch nose' thing just to verify. It's a very funny feeling to still be breathing with your nose shut!

I tried this a few days ago, but forgot to post the results... I was already lucid when I held my nose, but it worked really well to keep me in the dream.
The entire dream is posted here.

This, in my opinion, is definately the best RC. It has work 99.9 persent of the time for me. (strangely enough last night was the only time it didnt work, i was too preoccupied triyng to fix my clock because the numbers were all jumbled up!!) It also helps to keep me lucid. No other reality check works as good as the nose one.

I find the clock one works better. After that, the counting finger one. And then it's the nose one...

Yaay I finally did it! It has never worked for me before, but this time I could breathe and even feel my breath on my hand though my nose and mouth were closed ^_^

Try breathing underwater in an LD. It's a similiar feeling, but far better .

I did this RC and was how I became Lucid for the first time! It felt like I just couldn't pinch my nose shut and I kept leaving holes to breath through but then I realized I was dreaming.

Ive said it before and ill say it again. This is the most reliable RC i know of, it simply cannot fail unless you make an excuse for the air (e.g. once i figured the air was let through because i had a blocked nose) or you have a blocked nose in RL.
recently im trying a new one. I find a new word every morning in the dictionary and that becomes my word of the day. When ever i want to do an RC i simple think of that days word. In my dreams of course there was no word chosen so insted of think of the word i relise that i have no word for the day and that i am dreaming.
Similair to remembering the day backwards because once i relise i havnt got a word for the day i try to think why and then i relise there was no mroning to that day...hey presto LD. The nose test always follows.

While this Reality Check gave me some seconds of lucidity, I have to say that I don't really like it. When I do it(when I'm awake)It doesn't feel right...It takes me about twenty seconds before i really feel I can't breath. I prefer the reading/looking the clock one, or maybe the fingers one.
