I didn't actually come to know Lucid Dreaming until I told someone about one of my dreams and they said it was a lucid dream... they then explained and I started looking for answers and more people who could do it. I had actually been lucid dreaming since the age of 4 due to a recurring nightmare and had been doing it all my life without realising it is something only a handful of people can do. I thought it was a natural thing that everyone could do. I'm one of the lucky ones that learnt at an early age so I do it fairly often just naturally and dont have much of a problem with maintaining the dream. |
That's exactly what happened to me, down to the recurring nightmare. Well, except for two things: my recurring nightmare was actually a series of nightmares with the same basic theme. Also my friend mentioned lucid dreaming to me instead of the other way around (sort of)... so maybe it wasn't the exact same thing.

My brother told me for about 1 or 2 years ago.
He: "Did you know you can controll your dreams?"
Me: "No. Is that a gift or something?"
He: "No. It is something you can teach yourself to do. It's called Lucid Dream"
Me: "How do I get a lucid dream?!"
He: "I don't know, but there was one guy...."
And he told about someone who had a LD. I was allready interested in dreams, and LD was even more fascinating.
Some few months later, I read about it on the internet. I saw a link to LD4all, and became more and more interested.

I read a topic in a swedish game-forum (Yeah I know but there's categories like "General", "Movie and Media", "Programming and Graphic" and so on).
The topic was titled "Dreams" and contained pages of people talking about their dreams. One day someone posted (Could it been Arabinator?) about lucid dreaming and linked to this site. At first I thought it was like silly witch/wicca magic stuff but I kept reading (You must agree that the frontpage of this site doesn't give the impression of containing something scientificly proved at all ). Anyway, I read about lucid dreaming, found it to be incredibly interesting, FOUND THE FORUM (with you guys). And that was kind of what I needed to see I mean, a forum with over 10.000 members can't stand for something not existing. Anyway, at the end of the day I had read about every article in the first 34 pages of google (Searching for lucid dreaming) and I was stuffed with lucid information and fact.
I think it's Arabinator (Here, in this forum) I owe thanks to for writing that post about lucid dreaming.

I read about it once but didn't investigate. My girlfriend has been an LDer since early childhood. Lately I've been learning a lot about Jung's theories of the psyche. I made a post on my blog about a conversation I had with my girlfriend after she woke up from a nightmare. Our talk revolved around her dreams and lucid dreaming in general. That motivated her to start a blog about her dreams (she's removed it since then) which motivated me to do a bit of research and start practicing LD-inducing techniques.

I was reading a bio on Aphex Twin and it mentioned that he wrote an entire album based on LD's.
Wikipedia linked to a page about lucid dreaming and i clicked on it for no reason...

I googled "Dream Interpretation "
A site came up.
I looked through it and I saw a link to a discussion board about Lucid Dreaming. I thought "Hey, that looks familiar", so I clicked on it. After a bit of reading, I soon got directed to this site.
Me learning about LD was an accident

Well...since I'm a big fan of the Nightmare on elm street films, I started to wonder if it was really possible to control yourself in your dreams. I did alittle research and ended up finding this site.
