Any Tips would be appreciated

First of all I'd like to say hello to everyone here smile.

I discovered LD about 3 days ago. Like any newbie i went to bed straight away in attempt to WILD dream. obviously i have failed miserably. Day 2, i researched the topic and attempted WILD before afternoon nap. I would go numb after a while of laying still and repeating mantra. Then my heart rate went up and breathing became heavy. I knew this may happen, so i ignored these. Then body would just relax and i stopped feeling anything. However really annoying thing happened, my eyes started to open! Experiencing similar problem during first night, i knew it was not the OBE. Luckily i kept still and once eyes closed i carried on with mantra. I fell asleep and next thing i remember is my sister shaking my leg.

While the WILD has failed, the mantra may have helped me to remember a dream. Suprisingly enough i was observing one of the Mr. Bean films lol. I reckon i was half aware that i was dreaming and i had no control over it. In hind sight i could have at least attempted ab RC, but I... just did not. It could have been a successful MILD if i did.

Could anyone provide me with tips to successfuly induce a WILD and/or MILD? Tonight I'm planning to attempt WILD with mantra with WBTB. I realise it takes practice, but I'd like to slightly boost my odds. Also I would love to find out the solution to the opening eyes problem, as it is really distracting.

Thanks guys smile

Good luck with your efforts. WILD is not the best method for a beginner, but you got great results for a first-timer. You might wanna do your WILD after sleeping for 4 hours or so, or after a nap, this will be easier because your body is already tired, but your mind is active. Also a little coffee helps me to keep my mind going.

How is your dream recall?

Current LD goal(s): To have my first long and vivid lucid dream.

Thanks for the reply smile
My dream recall isn't that good. I do practice it by questioning my awareness and doing some RC. I often will remember some parts of dreams during afternoon naps, however rarely during night time. I do daydream a lot. I have set up my dream journal and have registered the aforementioned dream. I definitely will try WILD after 4-5h of sleep. It seems that even if I fail WILD, there is a chance to MILD dream.
