How do I do lucid affirmations when my mind wanders easily?

I try frequently to do lucid affirmations, but my mind always wanders. Are there any techniques that would work for a wandering mind?

Current LD goal(s): I want to beat the crap out of George Bush, Justin Beiber, and my crazy aunt.

Yes. Go with your wandering mind. Pay attention to the abstract thoughts that float in. Every time another thought you did not consciously control floats in, consciously repeat it in your mind so that you become truly aware of it and then say your mantra/affirmation in your head. This is the best way to do it as you are not blocking out the thoughts while still keeping your mind aware.

I try to do this sometimes, just sit and watch what pops in my mind. it's really fun to say the least tounge2 I'll try to mix this up with my MILD mantra!

It's so hard for me to do that though. I guess my thoughts are so random and disorganized, that I find them hard to understand. For some reason I'll think of two things that have no correlation whatsover, and I'll make them into one thought.
Oh, but I did have my first lucid dream last night. woo

I know what you mean! xD I think it's a bit of practice, I've noticed I got a tad better over time (I don't really "practice" that hard, though).

That's great! Love the way you mention that so casually. I was so excited when i had my first LD and wanted to tell the world that it's real! You can really be aware in your dreams!!! Congrats.

Current LD goal(s): My first real LD was vivid, and I was very lucid. I want to do that again.

Congrats!!! smile smile smile That's awesome!

And it is perfectly normal for thoughts to be random and disorganized, don't worry. If you find them hard to understand, that's okay. Just go with the flow and keep your mind aware. It just takes a little bit of practice to get used to listening to your subconscious without drifting off.
