Doing what the Tibetian Yogists do needs an insane amount of practice. Lifelong dedication.

NREM dreams, which exist are more like thoughts than actual 3D environments. Since I practice WILD during the beginning of the night, at WBTB if I wake up, and at afternoon naps I’ve entered some NREM dreams.
In NREM dreams, it feels as if you’re not at 100%. You don’t get the same feeling as REM dreams, you have no feeling of momentum, and you don’t feel like you “exist”. Basically it’s just really vivid thoughts.
Example of NREM dream: I am in a kitchen, and I’m moving out of the kitchen.
You don’t see the kitchen with a point of prespective, but you’re thinking about the kitchen. It’s sort of like deep daydreaming. It’s easy to discern between this and reality, but if you can summon up the energy to do something in it, or achieve higher lucidty you’ll most likely wake up (at least in my case)
Example of REM dream: You’re standing in the kitchen. You look around and you see a door. You move torwards the door.
It’s like being there. It feels so real, it’s very easily mistaken for reality. When you do become lucid, it really becomes an awesome experience.
I’ve went into NREM dreams after WBTB, at the beginning of the night, and during afternoon naps. I have also went into REM dreams from the beginning of the night, from WBTB and from naps.
mostly, I enter REM dreams from WBTB and naps. More easily from WBTB since I fall asleep more easily. If I do become lucid, this become extremely vivid. I have entered a lucid REM dream from the beginning of the night, through sleep paralysis, and I also have entered regular REM dreams normally, at the beginning of the night. This confused me a lot, since REM isn’t supposed to happen at the beginning of the night. (The normal dream turned into a DILD, where I woke up into sleep paralysis 5 minutes after falling asleep)
So imo, NREM dreams exist, but they aren’t very useful for lucid dreams unless you’re quite experienced and can salvage them into something more. I’ve used lucid NREM sleep to create a dream scene, and make things happen in them but I never walked around in it and felt the world.
