Lucidity Challenge 43: Winner - drd!

Had the longest lucid dream of my life. Out of important things, I asked two DC about their favourite songs and had one sing a song for me.

A DILD and a Chain here. No tasks though. I may have been lucid, but I wasn’t lucid enough to recall things to be done.

Distracted DILD ~ Medium Lucid Dream ~ CHAIN

Stats so far:
Short LDs: 2
Medium LDs: 4
Long LDs: ~ none ~
Chains: 4

Task 1:-E Parts I & VII | Parts III & IV | Part II
Rhewin, I don’t know if you added points for changing the music yesterday. I’ll point it out just in case, now that the actual dream is posted.

I played instruments last night, but since I already did that, I’m not claiming points. There were several references to an upcoming musical performance, but the actual show didn’t happen.

I had a short lucid dream and a medium-length lucid dream this morning as typed here. No tasks from the Task were done, and my personal goal was forgotten.

@Siiw: yep, I got it all down

@obfusc8: Seems like a new instrument to me!

@En’enra:  Congratulations! I know what it’s like to have a great LD like that. Just the perfect mix of stable, vivid and lucid. And you know what? I think taking your would-be attacker, making peace and then taking him to a concert is worth 10 creativity pts!

@Thorn:  I think it’s safe to say you were a tad groggy in that dream. And now I can totally steal the task idea :ebil:

Scores are updated.

As for the team advantage, here are the teams’ current participation rates*:
Transformation: 18% (2 tasks per member)
Creation: 15.9% (1.75 tasks per member)
Investigation: 7.95% (.875 tasks per member)

*Participation rates calculated by the number of tasks completed by a team divided by the number of members on the team. Average number of tasks is then divided by total number of tasks. 100% participation is 11 tasks per member in Task 1

Had a medium length DEILD. I summoned a mini keyboard by holding out my hand, and then I played it. I also asked a DC to sing his favorite song. At first he didn’t want to, but then he sat down, pulled out out a guitar, and started singing.

Edit: To clarify, It was a piano keyboard, not a typing one.

I had my LONGEST LD EVAR this morning. No tasks done, because my lucidity was too low to remember that I even had LC tasks, but it was still a long LD for me, and it shows that I’m making some progress.

I had a normal dream last night in which I listened to music.

@drd: awww, a computer keyboard could have gotten you points for making a new instrument . Well done anyway! Did that DEILD chain two LDs together or did you use DEILD to become lucid from an ND?

@Mew151: Congratulations! Now see if you can beat your record again

Scores are updated.

Everyone, turn in any other task points you might have had. I decide the team advantage tonight, and so far the Transformation Team is way ahead still. Time for a lucid nap, eh?

Rhewin I used the DEILD to become lucid from a ND, and actually, I re-entered the previous dream.

Had a short lucid today. I recalled the group task and went looking for a park to perform at. Didn’t find it, but flew over some really beautiful scenic places.
Can’t seem to remember how I got lucid, I think it was just spontaneous. Mainly remember being low level lucid and DCs licking my fingers? o.o (finger licking good lol) Then I suddenly went… What am I doing here? I have to do my tasks. I stabilized the dream and left the building.

Outside was a lot of greenery. There was a road and on both sides lush green trees. On one side, I see over a stony cliff a really nice deep blue lake with mountains in the distance. The sky was cloudless, it was like a perfect sunny day. I walked around looking out for a park. I come across two DCs that were couples. I asked them where the park is, the male DC points into the forest and laughs, “Deep inside there, it’s very far.”

They walk off, I hop up into the air and fly into the forest. I stop by a lake and just took everything in. The sun was glistening in the beautiful blue water, the tree branches reaching out to me with countless little healthy green leaves. It was simply breathtaking. I am reminded of Enenra’s recent dream here. The dream seems to be nearing the end, I panic a little since I haven’t completed the task. But with a quick rub of my hands, it stabilizes. I drift a bit and decide to sing a song, the first song that came to mind. Don’t remember it anymore -__- I continue drifting and singing and… that’s about all I could recall. Had some long intense NDs afterwards and woke up.
Unsure if I can still join the battle!

 . Hodge_Podge - Transformation - Turn into the Grey Hulk!

My average LD length is short.

Sure you can join :content:. However, I won’t count you for this week’s scores as it could affect the team advantage, but you can start when I post Task 2 tonight. As far as your LDs go, you just need to tell me when an LD feels short, medium, or long. Theoretically, most of your LDs should be medium from your point of view.

Long LD with chain where I completed my personal task.
Listened to music, composed a song, met a favorite musician, asked a DC to sing their favorite song.

EDIT:

Medium LD
Created a new instrument, changed the style of music.

Task 2 - Animals!

I thought everyone did a great job last week, so this time we’re going with something a little trickier. You’re going to have to start incubating now, rather than relying on something just happening in a dream. You’ll also notice there are few if no restrictions on what can be combined from here on out as well. Now, this is only Task 2, so don’t expect anything crazy, but it’s only going up from here.

Who doesn’t love animals? Well, animal haters probably. Hopefully that doesn’t include any of you since that’s what this week’s task is about. Get your incubations ready, it’s time to explore the animal kingdom!

Find your pet in a dream 20pts: this could be a current pet or a pet that has long since gone to pet heaven. I’ll take birds, goldfish, horses, whatever, just so long as you actually own(ed) it. If you never have had a pet, you can use the pet of a friend, but only if you haven’t had a pet.
Tame a wild animal 30pts: sure, you could just go find a horse and ride it. Or you might get a wolf as your new DG. Be creative!

Summon an animal from a movie/video game/TV show 20pts: doesn’t matter what it is, just make sure it comes from some form of media. And yes, things like Pokemon count.
Bring a toy animal to life 30pts: if you’re not sure what I mean, go read some Calvin and Hobbes.

Have a conversation with an animal 20pts: and yes, conversation does mean that it has to talk back to you. Communicating psychically totally counts.
Find an exotic animal in its natural habitat 30pts: your definition of “exotic” might change depending on where you live. I’m looking for something at home in nature. A raccoon in a city is not an exotic animal in its natural habitat. A lion on the savannah is.

Turn a dream character into an animal 20pts: I don’t really care how you do it as long as you’re the one doing it. No cheating and asking the DC to just do it for you . Note that this does not have to be a real animal.
Turn yourself into an animal 30pts: same as above. Also doesn’t have to be real. I wonder what being a squid feels like…?

Task 2 Team Tasks

Yet again, there are no combination restrictions for this task. GO CRAZY!!!$)!@)!

As stated before, team tasks must be completed with a member of the appropriate dream and are worth 40pts.

Creation: the hunt is on! With your team, decide on a specific mythological creature and one back-up creature. By mythological, I mean something that comes from either ancient or urban legends (nothing from media unless it’s based on a legend!). Your task is to then find a team member - or however many it takes - and defeat this creature. Keep in mind, defeat could include things like taming or capturing it, not just killing.

Investigation: why bother hunting when you can reason? With your team, decide on a specific mythological creature and one back-up creature. By mythological, I mean something that comes from either ancient or urban legends (nothing from media unless it’s based on a legend!). Once you find one, interview it. Ask it things like where it came from or what it wants the most. Your team member only has to be present, but you could do something clever like turn your team member into the beast >.>

Transformation: you know what? Forget even trying to understand the beast. Just become it! With your team, decide on a specific mythological creature and one back-up creature. By mythological, I mean something that comes from either ancient or urban legends (nothing from media unless it’s based on a legend!). Then, find a team member and become the beast! Both you and the other team member must transform for it to count.

The creatures are on a first-come-first-served basis. However, even if your team picks early, the team tasks do not begin until 48 hours after this post (midnight on Friday CST). To lock in your creatures, have a representative post in the LC topicat any time before then.

Each team will have a unique creature, hence the back up. If your primary choice has already been claimed by another team, you’ll default to your secondary choice.

CREATION ADVANTAGE

Creation Team! You won the advantage for Task 1! You get to make your own team task in addition to the above. First off, the task must be related in some way to creation. Second, you must use the following key word for inspiration: Dinosaurs.

Creation can be many things. You could animate something that is inanimate, you could design something new by drawing it or whatnot, or you could summon something. The choices are yours. You have 48 hours to make a task or I will make one for you. This task is worth an additional 40 (20)pts.

I will post Task 1’s final participation rates tomorrow along with a little more information about the importance of participation rates… you won’t wanna miss this

Been busy all week and didn’t get to update V3.

Chained a Long LD
-Changed a song while lucid

Had a false lucid dream this morning. Questioned if I was dreaming and did several RCs that failed and I didn’t become lucid, despite flying around and other weirdness…

I had a long LD last night. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember most of the tasks until the end.

I don’t know if any of this counts. I was in some schoolyard/maze kind of place. There was a full moon out, large and bright, so I tried to transform into a werewolf. All I got out was the howl, but no actual transformation unfortunately. However, this somehow summoned another werewolf, as it showed up out of nowhere and started to chase me. I had to hide behind a door, which it apparently couldn’t get through. I tried going back out, but the wolf kept coming back at me.

So, as far as tasks go, I figure I failed the transformation task. I also failed to tame it. I did, however, accidentally summon an animal from a movie. The werewolf didn’t look exactly like it, but it was similar to Lupin from Harry Potter. Plus, I found an exotic animal in its natural habitat. The werewolf showed up in a creepy area under a full moon, which seems like its natural habitat to me.

I don’t know if a werewolf counts for the animal parts, but it seemed like it did. If I’m wrong on what counts for the tasks, let me know.

Had 3 DEILDs last night. The first was chained with a ND, and was short. The last 2 were chained together for a medium length. I looking into a mirror, transformed into a tiger, and I saw my cat. Also, I grew wings, and flew off of the ground a few feet when I had them. I saw my shadow, and I looked like a werewolf too. When I flew, it didn’t feel as though I was flying with my wings, because I was having trouble controlling them. Since this is my personal goal, and I am not satisfied, I don’t want the points for completing it.
