also i should add here that most such information comes through during the twilight zone state of consciousness..
the trick is to keep one's mind awake, focus on breathing, and one's attention on the book itself. often at this state of consciousness, an inner voice speaks, to recite phrases and sentences, etc.. one thing i notice, is that the voice itself comes through witha deeper meanign than just words. you can actually feel the emotion, and perspective of the writer..
very cool... I LOVE THE TWILIGHT ZONE. |
should you be trying to read it or staring at it, or should just thinking about it work?
It's a devil of a task of keeping your thoughts on topic in the "twilight zone" it's where mantras are forgotten and when remembered they are different than when started... sometimes even taking on slightly "negative" connotations...
wish ic ould think of an example but when i go into that state of mind when i come out i'm saying my mantra and it's not making sense because my left brain is kind of shut down, and the wrods are different and sometimes it has a meaning other than what I intented for it to have. |
I would recommend just mentally holding the attention on the book. How can I explain this? There are some good exercises, that cna shift the attention beyond the 'physical' senses. One would involved things like with a dark light, imagining what different objects might taste or feel like. You try and empower the senses, to work without any actual physical awareness taking place.
As an example, when someone says that line about "stratching the blackbaord", you can almost hear it in your mind, your body actually reacts. (if you really don't like that sound, like me!) we can begin to develop this extrasensory perception through simple exercises like those mentioned above.
i find alot of twilight zone readings, material comes through later on int he night. just picture th ebook in it's location. don't think about it too much, 'hold' the image, and try and let the mental chatter still.. i know that you're a well practised lucid dreamer, so you should have absolutely no probs with this.
i recommend breathing exercises, as a way of stilling the mind..
here are two exercises iw ould recommend! which I've also found very interesting. And while not directly connected to the experiment, are relevant..
While "dreaming" for guidance for the book I am writing, I focused on imagining it's front cover. I tried to imagine it inn my hands, on my desk, etc. All the places such a finished book product might end up in later life! I was actually showing the back cover for the blurb, and direciton which helped me write the first chapter. Very handy!
Also in terms of this experiment, it could also be a handy precognitive experiment. One could visualise their science/nmaths textbook, and focus their attention on those sections of the book, which it is important to revise. then upon waking, if one had a successful dream, the experiment may later turn out to be very handy indeed.
I oftne use this as a way of 'revising' for future assignments, and tests. and i've actually been guided to the necessary aspects of revision, which in fact turn out to be int he test.! very worthwhile.
Have fun!
Nick

Just remembered a really cool recent example. I've just come back from a two-week teaching placement at a primary school. We get graded at the end of the two week period.
Anyway, during the first week I had a dream that my teacher was writing down my mark. I could see the sheet she was writing down on; she gave me a FIVE! This came as a big relief when i woke up! Since I need a FIVE, to teach at particular schools in later years of my placement. i told this story to lots of people - my dad, my fellow placement teacher, etc, etc...
Then. A week or so later my dream came true. Every single grade was a FIVE, and the total mark of course a FIVE. It was kinda cool - the way i received the INFORMATION/TEXT from the dreams a week before it happened

I have heard about such learning method years ago (put a book under your pillow and you will master it during your sleep), but didn't believed it. And i still want some proof to see can it really happen, so maybe someone can have such experience here
What i'm more inclined is to mastering some books, or topics what i have read, but haven't really mastered yet. For example this topic gave me idea to meet Einstein in my LD-s and to chat about Relativity Theory so i could get the whole picture of it BASED on things i have already read, but what my mind haven't got fully yet

Yes Cyrus,! that's what I want to do to, master what I have already put in my head.
I sometimes wish I was a computer. I wish I can just load in the information then have it to keep.

I read the article and also i have read about workshop where Einstein was common advisor for someone who worked on computers (from EWLD). So it might be pretty nice idea to try out in future.
But overally seems that Moss is assuming too much into dreams (i read also his article about meeting with dead relatives). It can be so, but you cannot assume as boldly the things what you just speculate and not have enough proof. But it's a different topic anyway.
