network maintenance Sunday April 29th from 2AM until 3AM EST

This is from my provider:

EST? What time is it in GMT then?

I’m always confused because of the different timezones

EST is 6 hours behind dutch time. So 2 AM EST is 8 AM in holland. And GMT it would be 6 AM, if I calculated right.

I think EST is GMT-7 ?

I looked it up and saw that EST is GMT - 5, but “In some areas, starting in 2007, the local time changes at 02:00 EST to 03:00 EDT on the second Sunday in March and returns at 02:00 EDT to 01:00 EST on the first Sunday in November.” So if that is taken into account, than it is GMT - 4 and that is 6 hours behind dutch time. And thus is correct with what Qu said.

It’s not March any more, so it’s redundant until November.

Eastern Standard Time is 5 hours behind GMT. (except for 2 weeks in March and 1 week in November)

Pacific Time is a pain to figure out because some states don’t follow daylights savings at all. But in general it is 8 hrs, except for the same time periods as with EST.
