Eyes open

Is it possible to do a WILD with your eyes open? Has anyone ever done something like this?

I would doubt that, since our body naturally closes our eyes when we are about to fall asleep. The eyelids get heavier and heavier and we soon can't keep them open.
Of course, there may be exceptions sometimes, but why torture your body with keeping your eyelids open when it wants to sleep. Closing your eyelids should grant an easier and quicklier WILD proccess.
