Hey, looking for a bit of help on uploading my own avatar pictures on here. Now, i can get them the right size pixel-wise, yet non of my pictures seem to meet the 10Kb limit there is on them, and i don't know how to reduce the Kb, reducing the actual size of the picure doesn't seem to help.
I've been messing around with it for ages and i'm finally giving up doing it without outside help
Thanks

What program are you using to make them smaller? You're gonna need to reduce the image quality when you save it, and make sure you're resizing correctly. so whatcha got?

I suggest GIMP, as it's free, pretty full of tools if you want to use it seriously, plus it lets you choose the quality of the image when you are saving it (if you choose JPEG format and check the preview box, it even tells you how big it will be )

You can reduce the KB in photoshop pretty simply... I had to google what to do (as I have no idea how to use photoshop), but you just go to something like view or image (depending on what version you have), and find 'image size', then just type in the limit

I'm not really using anything, i'm just uploading pics onto photobucket and linking them back to here, (as that seemed to work on many before, i just kept it simple)
Thanks a lot you guys, i think i'll look up GIMP. I was wondering if the only way you could edit it was with some kind of software.
