Happen to anyone else?
PostPosted: Sun 24 Jul, 2011  Reply with quote

Hey! Last night I had my first LD. I was in my school just walking around, then I just randomly realized I was dreaming! As I read a lot of new people do, I got too excited and woke up, at least I thought I had. When I woke up I couldn't move, I then remembered that this can sometimes happen after you WILD. But I didn't even WILD. I tried moving and couldn't, then I felt something jump over me (like a cat, but I don't have any cats). Then I noticed I was only breathing out of my nose. I tried to open my mouth, when I did. I think I woke up a second time!

So, was the first time a false-awakening?

Yep, that's what they call a false-awakening. There are 2 options to not get fooled by them:
- Do a reality check when you wake up (from a lucid dream)
- When you wake up, stay absolutely still and wait to see if you automatically enter another LD within 1 or 2 minutes. It doesn't matter if it's a FA or not, because in both cases you can easily enter another lucid dream (my record is about 8 in a row using this technique).
