Wow, that playlist is so helpful, thanks FiXato!
I like this rendition of Bloody Tears, from Castlevania. Sounds very nice, and actually quite different to the original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MM_Q0nfaG0
Also, I checked out 2Cellos. Awesome.

Omg Fix! That's 121 vids with 7 hours duration. X_x Totally gonna use that for whenever I need to study. Is it going to be kept updated, because that would be awesome? I'll pay you in cookies. *Eilatan gives Fix a cookie
Gonna put that link in my first post.

Ok...more app's de la fantastique!
Two that I highly recommend for any synth heads out there.
First one from one of my favorite synth creators, Korg....the iKaossilator both for the iPad and iPhone...just like the iMS-20, it is a faithful reproduction of the famous Korg Kaoss Pad with lots of sexy electronica templates to create with and lots of space to create one's own templates with as well. Beautiful sounds from the best of the best, IMHO
Second is what I've been dreaming of (Woo!)....something new and innovative from Moog but more user friendly (price being part of the equation ) A little blurb from the genius musical minds at Moog....
"Animoog is the first professional synthesizer designed for the iPhone 4 and 4s. Powered by Moog's new Anisotropic Synthesis Engine, Animoog captures the vast sonic vocabulary of Moog synthesizers and applies it to the moderntouch surface paradigm, enabling any user to quickly sculpt incredibly fluid and dynamic sounds that live, breathe, and evolve as you play them."
This I say...Animoog is no goofy little musical game app. It is a condensed Moog synthesizer right there on your iPhone, with a huge library of presets which flex the muscles, so to speak, of just what this thing can do...and anyone who knows anything about Moog and the epic/iconic sounds it's technology has unearthed...will know the implications of this. Wonderful, wonderful musical science! I love this app

Almost forgot about this topic Since I just found a great band, I'll share! It seems that rock IS NOT DEAD! And they're british, like most of the good oldies . supposedly influenced by Pink Floyd, Genesis, Reinassance, and folk music.

Just because people stopped posting here. Here is a video to show just how much love can be had between one person and an instrument. *Eilatan whistles the tune

This isn't the music thread, that's elsewhere. This is the thread of instruments and instrumentals. As the title says :o

Music (Pulp Fiction theme) in the center of vienna (starring the hammered dulcimer aka 'Hackbrett')
| http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammered_dulcimer wrote: |
The hammered dulcimer is a stringed musical instrument with the strings stretched over a trapezoidal sounding board. Typically, the hammered dulcimer is set on a stand, at an angle, before the musician, who holds small mallet hammers in each hand to strike the strings (cf. Appalachian dulcimer). The Graeco-Roman dulcimer (sweet song) derives from the Latin dulcis (sweet) and the Greek melos (song). The dulcimer's origin is uncertain, but tradition holds it was invented in Mesopotamia, as the Iraqi Santur some 2000 years ago.
Various types of hammered dulcimers are traditionally played in India, Southwest Asia, China, and parts of Southeast Asia, Central Europe (Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland (particularly Appenzell), Austria and Bavaria), the Balkans, Eastern Europe (Ukraine and Belarus) and Scandinavia. The instrument is also played in Great Britain (Wales, East Anglia, Northumbria) and the U.S., where its traditional use in folk music saw a notable revival in the late 20th Century.

MagykKatte: you are using the url tags wrong
You should've used them like:
| Code: |
[url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYpIHBqi0Ns&featu re=related[/url] and their more famous cover of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX6ksbwLnVQ&featu re=related[/url]
|
to make them show up as:
Or, preferably, as:
| Code: |
[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYpIHBqi0Ns]2Cell os - The Resistance (Muse Cover)[/url]
[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX6ksbwLnVQ]2Cell os - Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson cover)[/url]
|
To make them show up as:
(Though the second video is marked as private, and thus we can't see it (anymore))
