| Have I ever had a lucid dream or is this something else? |

Hi! I'm a beginner at this dreaming stuff... so i don't know much. but usually when I have a dream I know I'm dreaming and can change stuff in my dream. I have been this way since I was a small child, and I always thought it was normal. I can just stop my dream like a movie and change it and play it again all while I am asleep. Is this lucid dreaming or not? And my dreams aren't usually realistic but not oddly unrealistic. I would appreciate if someone could tell me what this is.
Thanks!

Yes you're lucid dreaming, since you described that you know you're dreaming and can change around your dream. You're quite lucky haha.

I can change the dream but when I dream I see everything like a movie.... I'm rarely in my own body but I can see myself in my dream. I don't know if that makes sense... I watch myself in my dreams.

You have control right? So you should create your own body and go into the dream. Remember, anything is possible in your dreams, be imaginative and you'll be able to create all sorts of fun things.

I never thought of that. I'll try to do that some time!
But is it normal to dream like that? Like watching your self act on it's own while you have a seperate mind?
Also, I don't see why everyone says lucid dreams are amazing. I never had those "hey i'm dreaming! this is so cool!" moments. I (the seperate mind) just know, like an obvious fact, that I'm dreaming. And I don't do cool tricks, but I occasionally change the plot of my dream if I don't like it. And I feel kind of... half-awake even though I'm fully asleep. Part of me is conscious when I dream.

That makes you a DO.
Yeah, you have potential, since you're already lucid often enough. Just make sure you have more control over yourself and try what SG said; create your own dream body.
