| My Wild Attempt |

So the other night I combined the WBTB method and WILD.
Anyways, I started to attempt WILD and I began by imagining myself walking down a spiral staircase, eventually I began to see lights and colors making shapes I tryed to concentrate on these and it formed into a scene, I was still awake at this point but I had this very vivid image of a snowy forrest in my mind I remember just picturing it for awhile before thinking "hey I want to go there". And immediately it worked, the scene like expanded and the light intensified and I heard this electric buzzing sound which intensified with the light into a big zap like sound, but unfortunately the sound manage to shock me awake 
I remember being sure I was about to get in to the forest as well... What was this and was I close to LDing?

The loud noise you heard was HS, a type of auditory hallucination that tends to happen as you fall asleep. Sometimes the noises can be a little startling, but if you can manage to ignore them you'll be in the dream. You were pretty much at the point of being in the dream, it's important to keep reminded yourself that you're dreaming or you could lose yourself and it'll switch back to an ND. Congratulations, you're very close

Awesome! Thanks for the response, I think I should be able to maintain the dream if it happens again.
