| Panoramic vision |

Has anyone here managed to have panoramic, 360 degree vision in lucid dreams? It's something I'd love to do. I don't know how to approach it - obviously it's something you can't imagine in daily life!

Wow I can't imagine every doing that. I have achieved 1st person and 3rd person though and sometimes Im in someone elses point of view and I could see my self

I have doubts whether this is possible. The brain in your head has designed itself during your lifetime to receive messages from and control a body that has 4 limbs, one head and two eyes which are able to perceive a limited angle of view.
So having 8 hands or seeing 360 degrees might not comply with your neural hardware. But I am not totally sure because dreams and OBE-s are a bit out of ordinary and regular logic doesn't have to apply here. Someone with experience could know better.

I definitely believe that it is possible. Your imagination is endless why limit yourself to your physical body.
I have actually been pondering this exact thing lately, but not in a lucid dream just in my imagination. and im not gonna lie, it takes alot of concentration for me to just imagine seeing three dots equally spread around my vision. i think with enough practice panoramic vision is possible and if you were to try it in an LD you might be able to convince your sub-conscience to do it without concentrating too hard.

Use the search function with the key words "360 degree vision", there are a few people who have meet with success.

That is definitely possible. I have had wings grown from my back in both ND's and LD's and I was able to control them, as well as, for example, feeling the wind rushing through the feathers. Imagination is only as limited as you think it is.

I admit I sometimes have a mindset of a conventional scientist and thus approach with caution on such issues. My claims are based on the assumption that dreams take place in your brain which is an interface device between you consciousness and your body. And since the brain is limited, perception should be limited as well. For example, a human in his ordinary state can't grasp the whole meaning of eternity.
This assumption could be wrong as dreams may not necessarily take place in the blob in one's skull but on higher plains. I haven't got conclusive evidence on this yet.
Sounds like material for the Lucid Lab.

I know what you mean. I've had some little dream experiences here and there that make me think it's not that simple though... I thought that dreams are based on what we experiece so there should be a limit. We can't fly IWL, but we know what falling, floating in water or swimming and wind against our faces feel like, so for the brain to create a sensation of flying doesn't seem so hard (I guess we might never know what it really feels like to see if it's the same  ). On the other hand, though, I've always wondered... one example: transformation. If you transform into a dog in a dream and touch the ground with your paw, your brain might know how to create that feeling comparing it to touching the ground with your hand or foot, maybe a little different is all... but how would it create the feeling of your tail touching a wall? We don't have anything like that... I've read of many people who actually can feel with their tails (and like Leijona above, with her wings!), so one of my big goals is proving that to myself!  . I have gotten some minor results which don't prove anything but really make me think there is no limit in dreams or that the limits are way beyond what we can imagine/comprehend IWL. I've also read of people who have had 360 vision and other really weird things like that. I'll definitely experiment with this when I get good enough (hopefully in less than say 20 years  )

Yes, Mattias. Like you I have so many experiments to try in LDs but don't get lucid often enough to try them.

Well, as a reply to the thing with multiple limbs, I had (in first LD) grown extra legs (in response towards a DC), and it felt strange.
How to explain... In real life, I know where my limbs are. If I pinch my leg, the pain is a feeling on my leg, but I also perceive the feeling as a "sound" that comes from that direction. I don`t know how to explain it well, hrm... Anyhow, with having multiple pair of legs, I get these impulses of "sound" (feel) imitating my legs`s, except doubled and in seperate locations.
Anyone getting me? I`ll doubt it.
