It is possible to MILD right before you go to sleep, but the chances of it being successful wouldn't be nearly as high as if you were to do it combined wih a WBTB. However, afternoon naps would be a great time to do MILD, because in that time, you would jump right into REM sleep, greatly increasing your chances of success. Good luck!
