Here’s an article about an (overpriced) cosmetic product that is (supposedly) causing people to have vivid dreams. Maybe it’s just marketing BS… Or maybe there’s some magic ingredient causing it… Anyway, thought some folks here might be interested
While part of it may be marketing (and the users’ expectations), it is entirely possible for a cream to have an effect on dreams, either through ingredients that evaporate and partly end up inhaled during the night, or by direct absorption through skin.
From personal experience, I know that Vitamin D cream (prescription only, at least here), applied to the forehead (for skin problems), does have an effect on sleep quality and quite possibly on dreams.
