| Subminial messages test... Do they work? |

It has been, and is still a lot discussed about subliminal messages here on the forum (just search for “sublime” on the forum, and you will receive  ). I see that many people claim that using subliminal messages help them LD more. But we can't be 100 per cent sure if that it is really true, or if a placebo effect plays any role here (placebo effect is when you believe so highly in something that it works for you, no matter if it really has any effect)
So I want to do an experiment here. Earlier it has been discussed if we could do an experiment here, but I don't think it came to any conclusion. I am too lazy to check who suggested the experiment  I will soon finish (hopefully next week) a subliminal program which can play subliminal messages on the screen while you use other programs, and I plan to use it for the experiment. The reason that I won't use any other sublime messaging program is that they let you edit the messages while playing them. To make the experiment as safe as possible, I want the program to be "idiot-proof", so that the message should be impossible to read for the person who has only the subliminal message "player".
I will make a small subliminal message program where I code the messages into the program, so it is impossible to look at it or change it. The message will only be seen when you play it, and it will run too fast for anyone to read it consciously. I will make different editions of this program where the messages are different, all after what we need for the experiments.
Please hang on  it is important for you to know all about the experiment to be able to judge about it. Below here I will write how I want to do it. I am open for suggestions to change or shorten down the experiment.
I want to do the experiment in two parts, one by one. For the experiments I will need lots of volunteers. The first part is a “real life” experiment, and the second part is a “normal dream” experiment. Later I am open for doing a lucid dream experiment, but now I will do the first two parts, because effects from lucid dream experiments are much harder to show, after all LDs are what we all strive for here, so both placebo effect and other LD inducing stuff might play a role here.
The real life experiment will be like this:
The group of volunteers will be divided into two groups, one “free action” group and one “choice” group.
The persons in the “free action” group will receive a subliminal message where they are told to want to do something right now (for instance eat potato chips ) They will then report if they felt they wanted to do anything immediately after reading the subliminal message.
The persons in the “choice” group will get to know of two choices they can make, for instance: eat apple or banana. They will receive a different message that the first group. Before they read the message, they prepare to do the choice, for instance buy apples and bananas. After reading the message, they will make the choice, and report what they chose.
Then the “normal dream” experiment:
Her I will need people with good dream recall. The volunteers will receive a subliminal message where they are told to dream about a given topic. They will play the message regularly on their computer while doing other stuff, for instant over three days. They will then report their dreams, and I will make other persons go through their dreams. Then we will see if they did dream of the given theme.
If you don't mind, I'll try to lead the project. 
If there is enough positive feedback, I'll start listing voulenteers, and finish the program so that it can be used for the experiment.

I wrote a calculator program yesterday that flashed subliminal messages on my calculator and was taking over peoples' minds with it. 
Messages included:
You are itchy.
You are in pain.
You have to go to the bathroom.
It worked for a surprisingly large amount of people. As long as you don't read it, because if you stare hard enough at it, you can see some of the words.

can you describe how youur program works and with what kind of calculator it works? cause im very interested in taking over ppls mind too so if you could describe how i would thannk you a lot

Okay... Now I've made a little program to test subminial messages. We won't do any experiment with it, it is just to test if it works with anyones computer. But I've got some problems with posting it at "my" webspace, so could anyone host it for me?  A Visual Basic 6.0 runtime file must also be included with the file. Just PM me, and I will send the file with a mail.

Nice idea AJ:).You can count me in to any of your experiments,im not sure tho if its ok that i dont have constant internet access(only at work-but still its about 5hrs a day.5 days a week)

I am writing it in Visual Basic 6.0. It means that the program won't be able to run in any other enviroments than Windows 95 or newer. Sorry

I'm not saying that i'm actually *giving up*, but it seems like it has been very little interest for this experiment, so I don't know if I will get enough "guneia pigs" for it, and I can't do it at all if noone can host the program files for me, as I have trouble updating my webspace. Sorry

This programm is based on a discussion in the chat.
So I decided to code a flash version of the hypno wheel.
So every one can put his own subliminal messages in by xml file.
This is an experiment if subliminal messaging works getting lucid dreams.
Feel free to try it and creating your own messages, but i will take no responsibility for contingent losses or vivid dreams  .

Just downloaded it, very nice programm
Just one problem:
The blink-text either doesn´t work or I don´t see it.Is it supposed to be unvisible for the counciousness, or is there some problem with my computer?
