This site needs less forums

There are too many forums here. I mean, how many are there, like 10!? They should fit more topics into less forums.

Think about it, with more people in fewer forums you could have more answers to questions, bigger discussions and more interesting topics all in a couple forums instead of spreading these things out all over. Forums that don’t need to be their own discussion board: Fruits of Lucidity, Lucidity Centerstage, Theory of Lucidity, Lucid Laboratory, the Stuff Dream are made of and maybe some more. By creating less boards you wouldn’t have any of those lone topics with no discussion in it at all.

I know I don’t go to all the boards, but if some of the topics from the ones I don’t go to were brought over to the ones I do go to I’d check them out. Maybe they made more boards because too many posts in one board----just the opposite problem----but now there’s just too many boards. Ones with such few constant topics and posts that it’s almost depressing.

I’m not saying we should make all of these into one board, but slim it down to maybe 5 boards instead of the…um, 11 that are dream related.

This is all just my opinion, other people might like that everything’s not at a fast pace, but there are just so many topics in these left behind boards that should get more attention.

Personally, I don’t think it takes very long to exit one forum and click on another one. I think it’s good that they are seperated, because then people can just focus on the kinds of topics that interest them.

Well, everyone doesn’t do that. Some of the other boards are just the same topics but altered a bit. Like I said, with taking some of the less needed boards out, there would be topics with more discussion, more opinions, more tips and suggestions.

You got some points, Tride15, but on the other hand the boards would get too crowded, ie. too many topics in one board. For example even now, in the active forums, some topics at the bottom of the list are just 2 or 3 days old.

Perhaps a board or two could be merged but 11, 10 or 9 doesn’t make much difference…

Well, they could just put the slower boards with relative topics together instead of putting them all in Quest for Lucidity or something. Because I go into those slower boards and see that there will be like 5 posts a day or something and you can see topics from awhlie back still on the front page.

I totally agree, I was so confused when I saw all the forums. I mean… if I want to say something, where the heck do I post it? :shy:

Well, sometimes less is more. I kinda liked it before, but it looks like I’m the minority - nothing new there! :flower:

 Well the site has become a bit more professional then it was…
So its more specialised…on the other hand once you know where all is, it aint that difficult. But i can understand you feel its a bit like islands
Tride15 if u put the slower boards to gether then u got again more forums…

And if u have all in one well the reading time would be still the same…
That woudlnt change…

Jeff

Wouldn’t putting slower boards together be making less boards? There are just a lot of topics on these boards that are so slow. This is obvious because there are topics that will get replies 1 or two days later and have little discussion.

Tride- the forum went through few changes since its new look.We used to have just one forum with no subforums at all and it was fine. But to find interesting topics you had to judge by titles ppl gave their posts so it was mostly misleading.
Then there was many ,many posts asking Pasquale to add some subforums to make it easier. So she did.It was ok then but as we found out lucidity consists of many, many little details everyone wants to talk about. So in time Pas has added few more subforums(remind you-it was because a lot of people asked for this).
On the beginning i wasnt really happy with adding new and new subforums because once i got used to something i had to switch my habits.
Like you see theres no way to satisfy everyone(at least not here:).Such a decisions and changes are taken when majority of the forum votes for and when it seems logicall to most.
At the end of the day i agree now that its best of all the options weve had before.Forum is easy to navigate, subforums are nicely descripted.
What makes it sometimes annoying and difficult are actually people posting their posts before reading posting guidelines or people who cant be bothered to find appropriate subforum to post their posts. And i dont think its that hard assuming we have only few of them.
Once you get used to it,you will be very unhappy when there is a change ahead:)
Take care

Thx Jack!
