Dream book program

Whats Dream Book Program?Im guessing its some kind of electronic diary…right?
Just wondering,i personally like to write them down with a pen.But i think it would be valuable for many members here:)

a diary would be helpful for many, but is that what you mean? i’m kind of confused as well… please clarify, thanx  !

I think yeah a dream diary!

Mm why not, you mean that ppl can install at their own computer?!

Jeff

Err, yeah a dream diary (thats what i meant ).
Sooo its a huge database that can be sorted in a table and fields
AND a dream dictonary that will be taken from the ld4all forum
I think i’ll make the fields like this:

Dream Name: My Second LD
Date: 3-6-03 to 3-7-03 (NOTE: MM-DD-YYYY)
Dream Description: Blah bla bladie blah blah blah.
Other Notes: When i woke up i had SP and a FA.

Nice aint it… for free. Ill post it on a website so that you can download it and install it on your pc.

I created my own online dream diary with mysql and php.
But, I think a new and free standalone program would be great!!

I would like the following features in it:

  • Search - the possibility for (boolean) searches through the dreams
  • Pictures - The possibility to include pictures in the dreams
  • standards - It would be great if the program had the possibility to export the dream database into some standard file formats like XML or maybe even an sql dump. In this way it would be exchangable with other programs.
  • Printing of dreams and even indexes of dreams for ‘offline’ reading
  • Statistics. ‘tagging’ of dreams would be great. Each dream can be given flags if it was lucid, the stage of lucidity, did it have FA’s, was SP involved, is it a dream or was it hypnagogia, stuff like that. In this way it is easy to generate some statistics over time.
  • A version for Linux and compatibles
  • Not only date, but also the time

Well, I guess I am asking too much!

Anyway, Keep up the great work!!

Oh yes! Search would be very good Nex
And statistics, time and printing…wowowowow that would be awesome!

Jeff

That should’nt be too hard

Not sure how im going to do that.

I think i will get it to work with SQL and HTML/PHP, not sure though

That should’nt be a problem too.

Thats simple

OMG, im not that good of a programmer. After all its VB not C++
Ill search for a porter though

Ok, thats done

Now, any other demands  lol? :content:   :cool_laugh:

-Nexz

 Well with these demands in its structure it should be a great and fun dream diary for all, even the proff lucid dreamers that do research!

Thx anyway for trying!

Jeff

umm… im not too sure if you will already be able to do this but what if you could have an extra space thingy to throw in some dream symbols so when your dream is in itll automaticly compare your words with the symbols… just a thought…

Nice thinking… I do not know if i will be able to accomplish that, but i will try :content:

-Nexz

Good Idea Lucian!

Hmmm Nexz you will be bussy lol

Jeff

Hmm, a while ago another member tried to do this

By the way, anything new from the “Dreamcenter” ? (DJem´s project I think).

Traumgänger

Seems that the Access database format has a textfield limit of 255
which is NOT long enough. Changing to another format.

-Nexz

Side made free software 2, so i asked him if we could share the same file format  That would be nice eh?

:cool_laugh: Yes it sure would Nexz!

Jeff

Hi Nexz,

Great!

I hereby declare you hero of the week.

If you need a beta tester I volunteer!

Update: The program will be written in Delphi instead of VB, this because QuickDreamJournal by Side is written in Delphi too.

-Nexz :cool_laugh: [/b]

    Sounds nice to me!

 Wonder how it will look when its finished!

Good luck!
Jeff

And then the project is off with a bang and is never seen again!

Just like Nexz. I guess he was distracted and lost interest in the project.
