The Big OTHER MEATHODS topic

I have, on average, one LD per month. I tried MILD, but it didn’t increase the frequency of my LD’s. So what I’m doing now (with some success, but its too soon to be sure) is the autosuggestion technique from Stephen LaBerge’s book “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming”.

Instead of repeating “I will have a LD” or “Next time I have a dream, I will realize that I’m dreaming” as he suggests to MILD, I instead use language that’s not as strong or insistant. I’ve been saying to myself as I fall asleep phrases like “I enjoy LD’s”, “Lucid dreaming is fun”, or “I like having LD’s”.

I recommend trying several different phrases, then repeating whichever you feel comfortable with. I’m interested in how this works for other people, so let me know! Good luck!

That’s a great idea! I’ll have to try that tonight.
One thing that I do is to try and immerse myself in the feeling of whatever I want to dream about without actually thinking in words and then sometimes that seems to also give me more dream awareness/recall and I LD more for some reason.
