A pyhcotherapist thinks I'm crazy because of lucid dreams!

One who wears Hawaiian shirts and thinks I"m insane, Hopefully he researches it like I told him.

off topic: is that bird an enymy from a square game? Which one?

Well I hope forums like this and websites about LDing will help to overcome this huge ignorance of people about lucid dreaming, this is really a sad case! I would say just stay cool, don’t get yourself in troubles, and maybe keep the whole LD-business just for yourself when talking to people who can make decisions about your future. Luckily, noone can control what you are doing in your dreams, they can forbid you to talk about lucid dreaming but they can never stop you from having LDs  .

It’s the a bird of Nakuru from samurai Showdown. It’s a Neo Geo Arcade game and it was also released on SNES and genesis.

The problem with getting them to come onto the internet to search it is ITS THE INTERNET, 90% porn, 5% warez, 4% crackpots, 1% useful information. He’d most likely categorize us in with the crackpots. :alien:

Personally I wouldn’t sweat it. Shouldn’t the lucidity institute come up like #1 on a google search? Besides they will most likely pick up a psychology paper about lucid dreaming that is if they haven’t already hear of it.

And if we all get committed, no biggie right? We can form a closer to community, surrounded by padded walls, easy dreamsigns to recognize, and plenty of free time.

Do you own EWLD? If so let ur doc read that.

If the psychotherapist hasn’t heard of lucid dreaming, I say forget him. We here at the forum can offer advice and counsel for free  . And there’s so many different ideas and viewpoints, that you can just take whatever seems best.

That is seriously one of the stupidest things I’ve heard. You shouldn’t be forced to keep things that have been proven to be true to yourself, because people who have authority over you are too narrow minded to accept it! I don’t know why people find it so hard to believe that it’s possible to be concious in dreams. But I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you, there’s too much proof and and too many people that would back you up for them to send you to a mental institution. (Who makes up the rules these days? :eh: ) I bet that once you tell whoever’s giving you the test about lucid dreaming and force them to read some (scientific sounding) documents you print up, you won’t even have to do the test. I think it’s your doctor who’s going to be in trouble, not you.

There are whole communities of people who like to suck each other’s blood or have sex while dressed as squirrels, it’s not necessarily a sign of sanity.

I think the best bet is to not do much of anything. They can’t label you insane because you ‘think’ you can control your dreams, that’s not going to happen. And they can’t set the sleep police on you, so if you said ‘You’re right, what on earth was I thinking?’ you could continue to happily LD with no worry.

All will be well.

YES!!!

My parents finally came to their senses!!! My parents decided to get some more Opinions. They knew a doctor(physcologist) who happened to have retirred yesterday. This Guy knew about Lucid dreams and Astral Projection greatly  Not only did he explain how safe and useful it is, but he even Encouraged learning them both and scolded my parents for trying to stop me. Now my parents want me to do it and said they were ignorant. It’s hard not to say “I Told you I was right!!!” My parents originally had doubts about the guy who wanted to get me analyzed. The guy pretty much shove me out of his office in under 20 minutes and had no clue whatsoever on lucid dreams. MY parents gave me back my dream dictionary too

Another discovery came from my mom, I knew she could lucid dream and astral project naturallly but I didn’t know they my great grandma and her older relatives had considered dreams important and prophecy containing. Heck, My grandma even had a dream symbol book(although this was ironically a book that help interpet symbols inorder to gamble for cash, but it did work really well according to my mom)!!! It’s called the Kansas city numbers so unless your gonna be gambaling(or playing lotto) in kansas city it’s prettty much useless. It’s kinda funny becuase I had imagined the book would be in some old chest of stuff, instead it lied around various places in the house for years. When I was younger, I tried to read it and got confused. I thought it was a weather Almanac  and not a dream interpetation book. It’s also pretty amzing that my family had been interpeting dreams for years and using books on it back the early 1900(and possibly even farther back).

Well thx guys for the suppport and help in this thread, I think I’m gonna read that Kansas city numbers book since it was a guide for interpeting numbers from dream symbols and is pretty old(at least over 50 years old). Here’s hoping it can drag out lotto numbers, I’ll give you guys scans if it actually works $$

Happy end!

Exactly… That is what drives the world today… greed

Totally agree on that… i dont even dare to mention it to friends, parents at all… Would be different if i knew someone who was into dreaming though…

THATS GREAT MAN! :cool_laugh: GOOD JOB WE ARE NO LONGER INSANE!!

anyway… one more step to educating the world about the wonderful world of LDs!

thanks a lot, sleepy!

now if only my mom could be convinced…
but she cant stop me

VERY Good news Sleepy, congratulations to your parents who made an effort to search for a second opinion and admit their ignorance now… And long live this doctor, the only thing I regret is the fact he retired… The world need this kind of doctors who know about the possibilities of mind!

Thats great!

:mrgreen_hat:

If you see that retired doctor again, greet him in the name of us lucid dreamers

Traumgänger

if your psychotherapist doesn’t know about lucid dreams then get another one, any psychotherapist worth their salt will know about lucid dreams.

I studied psychology, dreams and lucid dreams were brought up in the first year. So really if this guy doesn’t know about them he can’t be that good.

Yes! I knew it was that first doctor that was in fault. If only I could get MY parents to believe me. They think I’m insane too, but it a more minor way. My dad insists it’s not possible, refusing to look at the proof, and my mom sits there and goes “That’s nice sweety.” Argh! Anyway, good job! :content:

lol I don’t tell my parents! They can’t confinscate my dream books if they’re hidden  Maybe I’ll tell them one day offhandly, but they would be the type to think that I was crazy and that my friends had corrupted me if I LDed.

I’m very glad that your parents came to their senses.Oh,and if you get the chance, remind them that our ritual animal sacrifice is sceduled for next Friday at 8:00.Bring napkins.
