Sounds interesting. I googled the substance the article said was probably the active part of the plant, ‘Triterpenoid saponins’ and found this:

It looks like it’s been known to have an anti-viral effect, but they don’t mention anything about how it affects dreams. Could be very interesting to know if it worked.
