Riddles part II - the chaos continues...

What thread is now ready (well, has been for a long time) for a part II?
yep, you guessed right :content:

last post in part I (which can be found here: https://community.ld4all.com/t/riddles/5512

from kcmcdonald:

for more riddles and answers, welcome to this thread

Well, i’ll try to explain, but it would be easier with a diagram.
This is the situation (sort of :eh: with my text drawing)
30_
…|…|
…|…|
…12…|…wall…|

|…|…|
|…wall.|…| 12
|spider|… roof…|
|…|…|
12
…|…|…wall…|
…|…wall…|.fly…|
…|…|…|
__
A .= a space ( for some reason a few spaces in a row doensn’t work

Ok, now draw a line directly to the fly from the spider.
Then use Pythagoras’ theorem
_
…|.|_
…|…|c
.a|…|_
…|_____|
b
Imagine this is a triangle

Use the formula:
c^2=a^2+b^2
a=12
b=32
c^2=144+1024
c^2=1168
c=34.1760 feet

I hope you can all understand this now, despite my awful drawing.

The drawing I calculated it from looked somthing like this

…----------------------
…|||**| end wall with
…|roof
|f*| <-- fly
…|
||**|
…----------------------
…|
|
…|wall
|
…|
|
…----------------------
end wall …|**|
|
|
…with -->…|s|floor|
.spider…|
*|
|
**|
… ----------------------

this makes the distance (32^2+24^2)^0.5 =(1600)^0.5 = 40

whoops, i misinterpereted it :shy: . You are right, sorry. It is 40. BTW great skills in drawing with text. It just didn’t seem to work for me.

Yo

Hows it hanging riddling peeps.

Got one for ya

June and Harry are at home all alone and know one else is around
and all of a sudden their is an earthquake and they die and all that
fell was a bowl and some water how did they die???

 <|:D

Oh yeah why s the other one locked?

easy one.

June and Harry are goldfish.

jesta : are june and harry fish in a bowl ?

ok here is a new one

one night the devil appears to you and says “we are going to play a game, if you loose I take your soul, if you win you can keep it” he/she then shows you a table with an infinit number of cards on, each says DOOMED on one side and SAVED on the other. only 20 of them have the SAVED side up.

the rules of the game is that you can (with your eyes blindfoldet)) flip over and put aside as many cards as you want.

you win the game if there ars as many SAVED cards among the cards you put aside as there is SAVED cards left on the table.

assumeing you have a soul and want to keep it, what do you do ? or can you do anything ?

None of you can answer this one?

My head and tail both equal are,
My middle slender as a bee.
Whether I stand on head or heel
Is quite the same to you or me.
But if my head should be cut off,
The matter’s true, though passing strange
Directly I to nothing change.
What am I

Do you give up?

I got a paradox here:

A man walks up to you and says - “everything I say to you is a lie.” Is he telling you the truth or is he lying?

-I like this one

Thats easy, hes lying.

yep. hes lieing. now if he said. “this statement is false” then it would be a paradox.

Imagine : the best answer I could come up with was ‘an hourglass’

Yup they are fish in a bowl.

If the man is lying then how can he say

Everything i say to you is a lie?

:eh:

Does that mean he is telling the truth?

Bugger

And Imagine is it a worm?

Hahaha!! The answer is the number eight!! - 8

Okay, here’s an easier one.

If two’s company and three’s a crowd, what are four and five?

If the man is lying then hes telling the truth by saying “everything i say to you is a lie”
If the man is telling the truth…he cant, everything he says is a lie.

Not so easy…

Thats easy the answer is nine of course!

right, m2k, but it isn´t a “clear one” since you don´t know if “everything” means what he is saying right now, or everything that he said and will say to you.He could be lyling by “Everything I say to you is a lie” and then make a statement that is true.

Here is another paradox one (suppose most of you know it):

The King tells the thief:
“You shall decide about your own death. If your next statement is a true one, you will be stabbed. If your next statement is a false one, you will be hanged”

How can the thief get out of this?

Traumgänger

Trumaganger: That’s easy. The theif just has to say “This statement is false.” :content:

oh… good one, never thought of this solution.

Mine was:
“I will be hanged”
