I have to agree. The community does seem nice. I was welcomed, and impressed at the system. I suggested such a system to PasQuale.
All I will say is I have, very rarely, seen some rouges at DV. That is not to say that LD4ALL doesn’t have it’s rouges. But prehaps the fact that LD4ALL is larger means it passes much quiker.
Personally, LD4ALL is my home. So I prefere it. The easy to navigate layout attracted me to it.
I wonder, prehaps in the future, whether LD4ALL and DV will become affilates with each other. Afterall, the more the merrier.
It’s expected that people will have different opinions of each sites, and for people to “have a favorite.”
The main concern in some replies you see here towards DV is out of defense, and not to offend. Some feel that DV is censoring comments about LD4all, and have intentionally tried to ignore this lucid dreaming site. LD4all feels singled out. Like a finger is being pointed at us. It’s not about linking to us, or failing to mention us … but it’s about a supression of LD4all that people disagree with.
This type of supression only comes from the administration at DV, not it’s members.
and as a long time LD4all member I visit the front page of DV, and read their “Paradigm”
It’s like a total slap in the face. To read a paradigm such as this, and then notice LD4all links and threads totally disappear from DV. Are we “that other lucid dreaming site” that you strive to not be like?
The DV community is just like our own, and not different. It seems some admins there think we are too different to get along, and it’s simply not true. We have Christrians and Atheist as moderators and friends here, and I’m sure 2 different lucid dreaming forums can get along.
I understand you Da but with trust restored in eachother and bringing this all into openenss that should be solved very easy and quickly.
First you need trust and communication then you can iron the last crease in the fabricant

Give them a chance. Prehaps the feeling that they were up to such a big challange meant they have seperated themselves in this way to make them appear more attractive.
I agree. It is unfair to cenncor ld4all like that. It shows immaturity. However, it is still young and as long as we continue to communicate peacefuly with DV, instead of acusing DV, then we will begin to develope a relationship, where we can promote each other’s sites, instead of being rivals.
However, I would like to know why DV has cencored Ld4all?

Jeff, thanks, trust must be earned and this is a chance for that to happen.
My only concern is the recent increase of negativity each forum creates for the other. I’m glad to see we are working for this to stop.
From out of nowhere this year it seems members started joining here to tell us about a “better forum” … or “you are not as good as DV” or insult our operations, or their Moderators(O’nus) post as guest in our test forum insulting our management, and oh boy, padfoot, and the padfoot imposters … as if 1 padfoot isn’t enough.
I don’t have anything negative to say about DV other than their unfair treatment towards LD4all and the negativity it creates for both of us. It’s a site to be proud of. We should all be fans for lucid dreaming, not a domain name.

I completely agree and hope it does. We booth have rich communities and putting an end to this nonsense will only help both sites.
I think this is great as the lines of communication are finally opening up. We can’t solve anything if we don’t talk to each other. As we all know sometimes even one misunderstood comment can cause things to spiral out of control. By talking and getting to know each other we easily deal with these situations. I hope some of you guys continue explore this site and contribute to our community. In other words I hope you didn’t join just to respond to this thread. Mind you I am not suggesting that you neglect dreamviews and I know we are all busy. I just think that you will gain an opportunity to know more about us and replace much misunderstanding with facts.
This is one thing that does still concern me. Many of the DV members above have said that the hostility on DV was instigated by a small minority but, clearly only a mod can delete (censor) posts. I do appreciate that icedawg took the time out of his busy schedule to post here and try to clear things up. However, to be honest I was hoping for a little more as many ld4all members felt there posts on DV were censored by the administration.
I don’t know perhaps it’s better to just let it go and move on from here.
I’m sorry, but how did I ever insult your management??? (I am O’nus) I have hardly posted here whatsoever (let alone dream views lately).
I never intended to cause any problems at all, just browsing and learning myself still and I saw ld4all as another community that I would like to be able to talk with and learn from.

Hello all. I am nightowl, and i am also from Dreamviews.
I am a Dream Guide over there. I just learned about that incident with Dm7’s link. I had no idea and i personally dont know who it was. I will tell you now that we do not condone such conduct and im sure it was by accident.
Im not going to critisize any of you for what you said, but i was a little sad and shocked of what some of you said. I mean you’re judging us all based on what a couple of members have done and thats not fair. I think someone mentioned the Dream guide program, but honestly i didnt read the whole thread nor have i the time to do so, so im not really sure on that. I do know that even now we are striving to make our community more friendlier and open. With the DG program we are making that possible. So far we’ve had numorous positive feeback from new users who we’ve welcomed and its going great.
Why are you guys attacking O’nus ;_; i dont see how or why he would insult yuor management. He is one of the most mature and respected members at DV’s. Im sure there is a misunderstanding because that is not our O’nus.
Anyway this negativity between us should stop. we are striving for the same goal. To help others in lucid dreams. Me and LucidApple(AKA Jeff at LD4all) had a discussion about this the other day and we’ve come to the conclusion that not every forum is perfect nor right for everyone. Dont let others dictate what you think. Go there for yourselfs and see how it is and please dont judge us based on a few members because that it not fair. I’ve already been signed up here long before since i wanted to look around. I dont visit here much because handling one forum is tough enough, but you guys have tons of useful information. Its great. I cant remember what else i was going to say. I will most likely post later on…maybe

O’nus, I’m going to apologize for mentioning you directly, because I don’t know for sure if it was you. I contacted another moderator at DV at the time and they helped me trace the IP:
65.92.102.1** HSE-Toronto-ppp***.sympatico.ca
This IP was from “IToldYouSO” as a guest account. They replied to a padfoot thread in the helpdesk.
I was told this was O’nus, but this could be wrong so I’m sorry.
The only concerns I mentioned here are with prominent DV figures, not “a couple members” but the people responsible for leading that forum. If they don’t respect us, or treat us fairly … how can we expect their members to follow the that example?

I think what DA is trying to say is that healing and trust must start from honesty.
We know that things went beyond “just a few members” and some mods were involved. What happened with Dm7 was not an isolated incident. Only a mod can delete a post.
If you dont mind, can you name them please? I will try to look aruond for these members and what they said to offend you, but like i said your forum is so big. If you gave me a direct link, then i would be able to comment more on this.

This topic surely has more vallue now members from both forums meet at last. I surely hope in the future meetings between Dream Views and Ld4all members will have dreaming as central topic and not misunderstanding.

My observations and conclusions have came from visits to DV, and so there are no links to threads on this forum I could give you.
I agree the communication here is great. I hope it results in all of us putting past conflicts behind and move forward from here.

I will be honest. I dont know what to say. I dont know who did it and apparently no one does either. I’ll call this an “incident” then and now can we PLEASE leave this behind us and bring this no further. Im sorry if we cant bring out justice to this, but the administrator himself apologized for this and we ARE truly sorry that that happened so please leave it alone.
Anyway, please, we are making it an effort to reconcile with you guys. Numerous influential, and important, numbers have come here to discuss this and we ARE making an effort to stop this hatred between us. we are trying…give us a break guys

I think the two forums should work together to deal with these rouges that are currently causing trouble for both forums. It seems that some of them are trying to put us against each other.
I am suprised we didn’t discover this sooner! O’nus imposter, and padfoot imposter should all be banned.
