little MILD question.. nothin too hard

When I wake up from a dream, I automatically start my MILD technique.
BUT, In the middle of night, not moving at all, it’s hard for me to keep my mind awake and to truly tell myself to be aware that I will dream.
Writing my dream on the spot usually wakes me up enough to be a little more conscious and focused on my technique.
Will writing my dreams before MILD have any negative effects on the technique ?

Writing you dreams down is a great idea because it focuses you on dreaming. The only technique I can think of that you wouldn’t write the dream down is DEILD.

On another note, if you’re having a hard time concentrating or are about to fall asleep very quickly, you could try to go with something as simple as “I’m dreaming.”
