What are light and sound machines and what are they good for?

I have a light and sound machine on my PC, it’s called BrainWave Generator.
I don’t know if it works, but it has programs for studing, miditation, sleep inducing and stuff like that.
I found the program usefull for creating white noise when preforming a wild

I have a stand-alone LSM - a Halcyon - and it is AWESOME for use with your favorite herbs. I believe it would be a good dream tool if used in a specific manner. It’s really fun to connect it to a cd player, drop in some ‘enigma’ and trip out on light and sound.

It blinks a bunch of little lights in your eyes whilst producing brainwave-like sounds in your ears. The result is a sort of hypnosis and a cool lightshow.
