Here is the deal. I’ve been trying to find a video for one of my friends but i can’t seem to find it in AnY store (no its NOT a porn video or anything!!) So last night I went to Ebay and I found it on there. It’s not too expensive but since this will be my first time purchasing something from there i just wanted to get some oppinions from people to see if I won’t get ripped off or anything and if it’s a safe place to buy stuff.
So if there are any people that have purchased anything from there pleaze tell me if you got what you payed for and didn’t get ripped off.

with ebay i would say becareful. IF you are buying from a reputable dealer then yes you are safe (remember all payments do NOT go through Ebay - but your details go to the person your buying from. So where possible use paypal or cheque.)
but if the item is coming from a normal person then there is a chance the item maybe faulty and no returns.
I tried to buy a PC on ebay.
Well my mother paid the money to paypal using visa.
The PC was never dispatched. The seller, a company called we-all-bid had lots of positive feedback on ebay but all they sent us was a few emails making excuses.
Paypal was useless. They don’t protect people in europe. Luckily Visa sorted it out, my mother is a good customer of theirs, and they didn’t bill her for it.
You’d think getting burned like that would put me off ebay for life. Well one of my parents was browsing it a few months later and found a PC for sale in Ireland. This wasn’t a company, it was just one person, so we contacted him directly, and we agreed to pick it up and pay for it in person, as I was going to be in Ireland very soon. He was glad to sell it this way and cut the price. Anyway I’m using that PC now.
I don’t think I would use ebay again though, unless I could pay on delivery or collect in person.
I´ve bought from ebay several times, no problems.
But of course there is always the risk that you get cheated.
So, in my opinion, ebay is fine for “cheap stuff” such as books,films etc.But I wouldn´t like to run the risk with something really expensive

No, its completely safe, my brother bought a lot of things off it, with manye being over 200 dollars. You will only get scammed on things over 1000, and then it is VERY rare. you can also email and contact the seller and get his info. hope I helped, ben

I’d say it’s quite safe to buy there. But I’d avoid to buy from sellers with a very bad ebay ranking ( lots of “red” negative opinions).
Just do it…it’S easy and fun! 
I have gotten lots of stuff from ebay and so has my brother. I just bought a front bumper for my eclipse that costed me 348 dollars. The seller sent the bumper right away. I am still waiting on it though its been a few days but I never been cheated. E-bay is much safer no than when it was getting started. You have to go thru a process now to even sign up for ebay and to be a seller you have to provide all kinds of info like accounts and credit cards and all.
Whel i would never buy from e-bay fro 2 reasons.

My dad did buy me a laptop computer for me at www.half.com its run buy e-bay. Same rules tho
1.only buy from high rating people.
2.if u get scre*ed over, contact e-bay or half.com or wateva they will have to fix it. or they get a bad rep and its not good business.
3.HAVE FUN! 
I always check half.com first but I have bought many things from ebay with only one item never recieved. There is a risk but not a major one. Personally I just make sure I never bid more than I am willing to lose, if the item is never recieved it isn’t going to be a tragedy for me.
My first and presumably last experience with Ebay wan’t too hot. THe game was 2.99US when it finally got here it was a CD in a cardboard sleeve, no instructions or even a jewel case. That didn’t irk me too much but after S&H it was over 21CDN. Did they give the game its own seat first class? Coulda air mailed it to Australia overnight for less.

I recommend half.com for both buying and selling books (or videos). I’ve gotten top dollar for all my college textbooks that I didn’t want to keep.
I just bought a new skateboard off ebay and my brother has bought one before, and ebay has treated me kindly…no problems here.
Sure, it seems fine. My mom has bought numerous things off of EBay, and I’m going to try and get my Super J Cup '94 DVD there.
uhhhm, I’ve bought a game off of Ebay with no problems, and I’m currently hanging waiting for Waking Life to arrive, because I won that. But yeah, I’d do it. Ebay is good.
