Ok…here’s a story with a good meaning…not really a quote…but worth a thought…

                   The Mouse & The Trap

A mouse looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package; what food might it contain?

He was aghast to discover that it was a mouse trap!

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning, “There is a mouse trap in the house, there is a mouse trap in the house.”

The duck raised her head and said,“Mr Mouse, I can tell you this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me; I cannot be bothered by it.”

The mouse turned to the pig and told him,“There is a mouse trap in the house.”
“I am so very sorry Mr. Mouse,” sympathized the pig,“but there is nothing I can do about it but pray; be assured that you are in my prayers.”

The mouse turned to the cow, who replied,“Like wow, Mr. Mouse, a mouse trap; am I in grave danger? Duh!!”

So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected to face the farmer’s mouse trap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, the sound of a mouse trap catching its prey. The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught.

In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer’s wife.
The farmer rushed her to the hospital.
She returned home with a fever.

Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup’s main ingredient.

His wife’s sickness continued so that friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer’s wife did not get well, in fact, she died, and so many people came for her funeral the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide meat for all of them to eat.

So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think it doesn’t concern you, remember that when the least of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

Naturally, the common people don’t want war, but after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for the lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Reich-Marshall at the Nuremberg Trials after WWII

And i guess i could also quote some lyrics here too:

Primal Scream
Swastika Eyes (Jagz Kooner mix)

Your soul don’t burn
You dark the sun you
Rain down fire on everyone
Scabs, police, government thieves
Venal psychic amputees
Parasitic your syphilitic
Parasitic your syphilitic

Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes, swastika eyes, swastika eyes

I’ll vent my spleen I’ll keep my dreams
My flesh my bones my soul I own
My mind’s a weapon immune from infection
Blood in my eyes, my vision is clear
Parasitic your syphilitic
Parasitic your syphilitic

Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes, swastika eyes, swastika eyes

I see your autosuggestion psychology
Elimination policy
A military industrial
Illusion of democracy

Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes, swastika eyes, swastika eyes

Ok, maybe coloring out that one particular part was too much already? Great music if you are into electronical…

Dreams
By:Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a brocken-winged bird
That cannot fly

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow

Becuase ten billion year’s time is so fragile, so ephemeral…

-Intro to Now and then, here and there

“I came to America because of the great, great freedom which I heard existed in this country. I made a mistake in selecting America as a land of freedom, a mistake I cannot repair in the balance of my lifetime.”

“Nature shows us only the tail of the lion. But I do not doubt the lion belongs to it even though he cannot at once reveal himself because of his enormous size.” - Albert Einstein

“There lies in dreams a marvelous poetry, and apt allegory, an incomparable humor, a rare irony. A dream looks upon the world in a light of strange idealism and often enhances the effects of what it sees by its deep understanding of their essential nature. It pictures earthly beauty to our eyes in a truly heavenly splendor…” - F.W. Hildebrandt

Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is mearly energy condensed through a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, life is only a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. Here’s Tom with the weather.

I love that one, read it some days ago on a drug forum, but I think it also fits in here

Abrickinthewall… nice quote. Fabulous. There are some CDs of Noam Chomskeys narratives about Democracy and American Freedom… how its merely a system of control like everything else… want to pick those up.

Sounds good Lostboy. Maybe we could get a thread going on the subject. I wonder if there are any conservative types here… :eh:
